Playground added by Suzette, July 26, 2005
This playground has toilets, is suitable for toddlers, is suitable for all abilities, has seats, has tables, has car parking, and has the following special equipment "Whirly gig, spinning eggcup, moulded plastic climber"
Carnegie, VIC, 3163
My kids (5 and 3) also love this playground and I endorse everything said in the review.
One point of caution, for those with young children not yet traffic-aware, is the lack of fencing or other barriers to prevent them running into Koornang Road or Lyons Street, which are only 10-15m from the edge of the playground.
I also query how Koornang Park can be chosen for playgroundfinder.com's 'Our Picks' list. Nearby Packer Park is larger, has more variety and is far more popular.

Glen Eira City Council is responsible for a number of my favourite playgrounds, and this one is near the top of my list. My children (2 & 4) were quite taken with this creation and were self-sufficient for so long that I was able to have an entire conversation with a girlfriend. This is the sign of a very good playground!
The play equipment just emanates fun. It is bright and colourful, and invites children and parents to clamber aboard and explore all the possibilities.
Innovative equipment abounds here, from the spinning eggcup and the whirly gig to the huge moulded plastic number with holes for feet and hands that is a bit like a möbius strip. There are stepping cubes, a pommel walk, the cutest, space-age spring rockers that I've ever seen, a tunnel, shop front panel, a nifty kaleido-spot panel, slides and a fabulous free-standing musical instrument to whack. There is such a lot to interest kids here.
This playground is truly accessible to all ages and abilities. A path leads from the road to the ramp that leads up to the top decking from where there are numerous play panels to investigate. There is a swing with a harness and extra hand-holds, and tables with benches that are easily reached from the path. Parents or kids in wheelchairs could happily negotiate this park.
The tables and chairs are covered by a large rotunda and there is a drinking fountain. The road is bordered by huge hedge trees that were nearly as much fun for the kids as the playground, and there is an oval for ball play and mucking about on. Around the oval is a walking/running track that would be great for the kids to ride on.
